Dec.25-2015 ... Today is the day the world calls "Christmas". To most of the world, it just means going into debt and running yourself ragged to buy people things they don't need (or even want) and to suffocate children with more stuff (instead of giving them more time with the ones they love which is what they really want). Although I was raised with the knowledge of Christmas being the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ, it has only been in the past 13 years that I have understood the truest meaning of Christmas.

For just over 40 years -- from my youngest years until January of 2003 -- I sang the usual Christmas songs you hear on the radio, from Jingle Bell Rock to White Christmas, as well as the old 'carols'. I put up Christmas trees, went to midnight mass, and knew about the star in the east, the shepherds, the 3 wise men and baby Jesus.

Then, my Saviour brought me together with a man named Peter. My Lord opened my ears and my heart, and through speaking with Peter and reading the Gospel of John, I became 'born again' -- a term I had spent decades laughing about and rolling my eyes at.

Every day since January 13th, 2003, however, God has helped me to see what had always been there right before my eyes but which I litterally would not or could not see without having come to know Him personally.

I will pause here to allow many of you reading this (or should I say 'still' reading this) to snicker at the part where I just said "know Him personally'. That is, however, exactly what happened the second I realized that I was a sinner, that there was absolutely nothing I could to do get rid of my sin, and that Christ had come in to this world to save sinners -- to save ME. I was completely lost and in the dark until I allowed the Light of the Word to show me the Way.

Jesus is that light... "For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

God does not force Himself on anyone: He gave his Son to anyone who believes on Him. Well, it was on January 13, 2003 that I saw, heard, and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. I was born again.

All of a sudden the old Christmas carols began to ring true. All those decades of singing them and not really understanding what they meant ended, How could I have sung those words all those years without understanding?

To this day, I can not sing them or read the words without being filled with the joy that is Salvation -- "...God and sinners reconciled", "...born that man no more may die...born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth..." There it was all this time! How could I have missed it?

I have found this to be just one powerful example that can be found in the many, many Christmas songs and hymns that praise and explains exactly what Jesus' birth and the 'second birth' is all about...

"Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!

Hail the Son of Righteousness!

Light and life to all He brings

Ris'n with healing in His wings

Mild He lays His glory by

Born that man no more may die

Born to raise the sons of earth

Born to give them second birth

Hark! The herald angels sing

"Glory to the newborn King!"

Merry Christmas, everyone. Praise Him.

“…And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matt. 28:20

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Heb. 13:8

“The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” Deut. 33:27

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” James 1:17

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Is. 41:10

ABOUT US - The Worm Lady - 4 Lilac Court, McGregor, Ontario, N0R 1J0 Canada  (226) 787-8286

Peter and I enjoy the friendships that have formed with our many customers.  They all know they are welcome here at any time -- whether it is to purchase some bugs or even when "we were just passing through and thought we'd drop in to say hello".  Many bring their pets with them when they come by, and we have spent many happy hours visiting with pets and people alike.

We want our new customers to know what our regulars have known for a long time;  we are here to help in any way we can.  If you ask a question or if there's an issue you're having a hard time resolving, we hope you'll consider us one of your primary resources.

I had a call a while back from someone who'd bought some product from me months before when he was in the Windsor area (he lives a considerable distance away and was here visiting a friend).  It was Summer, and as usual, Peter and I (and Beastie) were all relaxing outside when they dropped over.  Well, a quick visit to buy some crickets and hornworms turned into an hour of chatting about all kinds of things.  Well, as I said, he called me several months later because he, "didn't know who else to call"...one of his beardies was doing weird stuff and seemed really sick.  We talked back and forth over several days and were able to resolve the issue. I felt so good that he'd thought to call and was so glad to be able to help.

We have taken in rescues and helped others  by taking in their sick beardies and nursing them for a while until they were ready to go back home.  We've helped people figure out what to do when their male beardies suddenly start laying eggs (!!!), when bits of shed get stuck on their toes, and how to calm and bathe skittish baby beardies.  Peter and I do all of this because we love what we do.  We love the people and the critters and the feeders we carefully raise up in order to healthfully nourish the pets whose owners purchase their feeders from us.

We have high standards for ourselves and take our responsibility to our customers very seriously.  We believe in treating everyone fairly and with respect.

Yes, there have been times when orders haven't been 100% correct and times when deliveries (either by Canada Post, or even FedEx) were not made when they were supposed to have been made ... these things will happen occasionally in any business.   In each instance when things have not gone as planned, we have done our best to identify what happened and then our very best to rectify it as quickly as possible.  Additionally, there is a huge difference between an apology and an excuse:  any time an apology is made, it should mean that you're taking responsibility.  Even more important to me is that any apology followed by the word 'but' becomes an excuse, and excuses do little to fix anything.  We aim to provide you with the best live feeders and the best service too!

Peter and I hope that you will get in touch with us if we can ever be of assistance to you in any way.  And, if you're in the area, give a call (to make sure we're not out on a delivery), and come on by ... you are always welcome here at The Worm Lady!

Kindest regards,

Annie 'The Worm Lady' Brenner

For God so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten Son, that whoseoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 ..... righteousness exalteth a nation but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 13:34 ..... For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 ..... For God sent not his Son into the world to codemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:17 ..... But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us Romans 5:8 .....

Some of our favorite Bible verses:

'Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners' 1 Timothy 1:15

'There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus' 1 Timothy 2:5

'... if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved' Romans 10:9

The Lord Jesus Himself spoke these solemn words:  'Whosoever therefore shalt confess me before men, him will I confess before God my Father which is in heaven.  But whosoever shalt deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven'  Matthew 10:32-33

Our Personal Statement Of Faith:

The Bible:

The Bible is the inspired Word of God written by holy men of God as they “were moved by the Holy Spirit”. All scripture is, therefore, without error and is the ultimate authority for our faith, given for our practical instruction and life practice.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

God is the only true God. He is infinite, eternal and unchanging and is revealed to us in 3 Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  God is Omniscient (all-knowing), Omnipresent (everywhere all the time) and Omnipotent (all-powerful).
Hebrews 1:8; Malachi 3:6; Psalm 139:1-12; Matthew 28:18-19; Revelation 19:6

God the Father:

He is the loving Father over His entire created universe. He is a God of love but is also a God of judgment.
Genesis 1:1; 1 John 4:8-10; Acts 17:30-31;Matthew 25:31-46

God the Son:

Although eternally God, He became man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (the incarnation). He lived a sinless life (as being fully God), and died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice to pay the penalty for sin (as the perfect man).  He rose again from the dead and ascended into heaven where He sits to intercede on behalf of those who trust Him.
John 1:1; Luke 1:34-35; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 3:24-26; 8:34

God the Holy Spirit:

The Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and indwells each true believer at the moment of salvation, sealing them unto the final day of redemption.  He distributes spiritual gifts and sets each believer apart to a life of holiness to the extent that they yield themselves to Him.
John 14:16-17; 16:7-13; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30; 5:18; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11,13

All creation: the heavens, the earth and all life, was created directly by God.  Man was made in the image and likeness of God Himself (three-in-one). Genesis 1:26
Genesis 1:1; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16-17

Although created perfect and innocent, man fell through the sin of disobedience and as a result, all men are corrupted by sin.  Unless a person is born again He will not see the kingdom of God and will instead face the righteous wrath and judgment of a Holy God.
Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:10,23; John 3:3,7

Atonement for Sin:

The Lord Jesus Christ died in the sinners place to atone for sin and rose again in order that all who trust in Him might have eternal life.  It is the responsibility of each person to repent of their sin and rebellion against God, acknowledging their sinfulness and turning to Christ as their only hope of redemption.  By placing their faith in Him, they receive the gift of eternal salvation which cannot be taken away from them. John 10:27-30
John 3:16; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Romans 8:9-11; Luke 13:3; Romans 10:9-11; John 5:24; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 John 5:11-13

The Christian Walk:

The believer is to live a life of holiness, not after the desires of the flesh but in the power of the Holy Spirit.  The believer is to gather consistently with a local church which follows the ordinances given in the New Testament.
Romans 6:11-14; 8:2,4, 12-13; Galatians 5:16-23; Ephesians 4:22-24; Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Peter 3:21; Romans 6:1-4

The Great Commission:

Until the return of Christ, each believer is responsible and privileged to minister to the needy world around them and to equip and encourage other believers in Christ.
Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 20:32 Ephesians 4:11-13; Colossians 2:6-8
